Que paso? [[NOTE schedule revisions below in RED]]
Angel Fire's Oso High Mountain Bike Race is a USACycling-sanctioned mountain bike race (race # 7 in the New Mexico Off-Road Series) for riders of all ability levels and ages. Whether you're a pro or have never raced before, we have a course and a great time for you! ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or "Lou Gehrig's Disease") is the most common, always fatal disease in the U.S. Thanks to the generous expense support of our friends at Modrall Sperling Law Firm, all proceeds from this event go right to supporting patient service and research funding activities of The ALS Association. While training for and competing in this great event, you can help Bite Back at ALS! Angel Fire Resort is hosting the event and will provide a discount for your room at The Lodge at Angel Fire. As the folks at Angel Fire Resort say, "Come up for air" and make it a weekend -- if you stay at the Lodge Saturday night after the race, your Sunday lift pass is free (see details below)!
***New Race Category: "Dude, I've Never Raced a Mountain Bike". Short, easy loop course***

Why ALS?
- ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/”Lou Gehrig’s Disease”) is the most common, always fatal disease in the U.S., and that bites.
- There is no cure, no treatment, and 90% of A.L.S. patients die within five years after diagnosis, which also bites.
- In 2009, more money was spent relocating prairie dogs and salmon than on ALS research, which is really shocking (and we like prairie dogs and salmon).
- On July 28, 2010, your Assistant Race Director, Doug Schneebeck (Sports Systems MountainTop Cycling), was diagnosed with ALS, and he’s selfishly hoping some really smart coneheads will use our money to figure out the cure.
Courses: Pros & Cat 1s, long; SS and Cat 2, medium; Cat 3, short (details soon, but roughly 6-25 miles total, including the super-fun "luge" section--22 big bermed turns on Lower Boogie)

- Pro podium payout $200; $100; $50
- Amateur podium beer steins engraved with class placing
